THE FULL KERALA COOKERY TOUR ITINERARY

 
Day 1 Arrive Kochi
Welcome to Kochi the Queen of Arabian Sea!. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Eighth Bastion, a CGH Earth Hotel. Elegantly built with the fusion of styles, tastes and ideas, this boutique hotel is celebration of Fort Kochi’s Dutch legacy. After check-in the day is at leisure or to stroll around this ancient town.

Day 2 At Kochi with Cooking Sessions & Sightseeing
 
After breakfast attend the hands-on cooking session with the chef at Eighth Bastion. Afternoon we go on a sightseeing tour covering major landmarks where you will have some time for shopping as well. Evening we watch world famous Kathakali dance.

Day 3 Kochi – Guruvayoor- Muziris Heritage Tour- Kochi
After early breakfast we proceed to Guruvayoor temple, where we witness a local Hindu weddings and see a few elephants. Drive onward to Kodungaloor to have a guided ‘Heritage tour of Muziris’ covering old heritage monuments, Churches & Synagogues. Understand ancient Kerala’s connections with Romans, Jews and St. Thomas. We return back to Kochi.

Day 4 Kochi to Thodupuzha. ( 2 ½ Hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Thodupuzha and check-in to Dewalokam Home Stay, a working farm run on organic and eco-friendly principles. Participate in, in-house activities like spice walk, Honey extraction, Bamboo rafting etc., Later you join the chef on an informal learn-to-cook demo using the home grown produces.

Day 05 Thodupuzha to Thekkady. (3 Hrs drive)
After a hearty Kerala breakfast we drive past the little towns and lush green mountains to reach Thekkady. On arrival we check-in to Spice Village where the mood of local tribal community is recreated in the luxurious cottages and ambiance. Walk with the naturalist inside the resort and get introduced to different spices, organic farm etc., Later enjoy a hands-on cooking session with the chef.

Day 06 At Thekkady
Early morning interested members can go on a soft trek in the outer forest area. Later we have our breakfast followed by a hands-on cooking session with the chef. Afternoon we walk to Kumily town to enjoy it’s lively markets and all prevalent fragrance of the spices. You can buy some of the high quality spices to carry back home.

Day 07 Thekkady-Kumarakom (04 Hrs drive)
 
After breakfast we drive down the hills and stop at a tea factory to witness the process of tea making. We have lunch at ‘Madakakunnu Estate’ and drive onward to picture perfect Kumarakom, located on the banks of Vembanad Lake. On arrival, check-in to Coconut Lagoon – a unique heritage resort which transports one back to the world of peace and contentment. Watch a cultural program.

Day 08 At Kumarakom
After breakfast we go on a village walk to experience the age old activities like toddy tapping, Coir making & basket weaving etc. This is followed by a hands-on cooking session with the chef. The afternoon is at leisure to relax by the lake side or for other optional activities like the Canoe cruise offered by the resort.

Day 09 Kumarakom-Houseboat-Mararkulam
After breakfast we have some free time and by noon we board the houseboat to enjoy the fascinating lunch cruise. We drive onward to Marari Beach Resort, built in the style of a traditional fishing village. The resort offer acres of whispering coconut groves, lush greenery, still waters, roaring beach, a butterfly garden and flagged pathways and much more. After check-in the day is at leisure.

Day 10 Mararikulam
Morning we visit the nearby beach and view the fishermen returning via local boats with their fresh catch. After breakfast we pick the vegetables from the Organic farm and attend the hands-on cooking session with chef. Afternoon is at your leisure. You can choose to have an aimless walk on the beach, listen to the songs of the birds, laze around near the lotus ponds, cycle through nearby villages or watch the sunset.

Day 11 Departure
We check-out depending on the flight timings and drive onward to Kochi International airport for the flight back home.

10 Nights stay in standard rooms as per itinerary & hotels mentioned.

Kerala Cookery Tour dates:

15th to 25th September 2017. You need to reach Kochi International Airport on the morning of 15th September and departure flight to be booked for the 25th of September 2017.
Important Notice   

The tour is subject to condition that eights passengers travel together at all times and it must be noted that non-Hindus are not permitted inside any temple premises in Kerala.
 
Payment / Cancellation & operational terms:
50% advance payments by 25th July 2017.
Balance 50% before 25th August 2017.
Full refund if the tour is cancelled 30 days prior to arrival.
50% retention applies if cancelled between 16-30 days before departure.
No refund for booking released less than 15 days.
All payments to be made by Bank transfer (WIRE transfer) to our Indian bank account.
